During the assembly elections, the BJP’s 2023 resolution included a point about bringing uniformity in the retirement age of Madhya Pradesh government employees. On January 11th, former Chairman of the State Employees Welfare Committee, Ramesh Sharma, wrote a note to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, calling for uniformity in the retirement age of Madhya Pradesh government employees. It stated that the retirement age of government employees should be 62 years.

The Finance Department returned the proposal, disagreeing with the proposal to increase the retirement age.

The government should consider increasing it to 65. He had also drawn the attention of the Chief Minister towards the cadre mess and vacant posts in the government departments due to lack of promotions. After which the file for increasing the retirement age of the employees to 65 years was sent from the Chief Minister’s office to the ministry. For increasing the retirement age, the General Administration Department had sought the opinion of the Finance Department regarding the burden on the treasury.
